Centrally Located
Located minutes from Kings Cross, Chancery Lane and Russell Square Stations.
We place great emphasis on pre-treatment workup including :-
- Investigate ovarian reserve with ORT
- Undertake a 3D SIS and Dummy Embryo Transfer
- Investigate the lining of the womb to ensure the best possible environment for developing embryos with 3D HyCoSy
- Utilise Dilapan to widen the cervical canal to minimise trauma to patient and embryos.
ORT
3D SIS and Dummy Embryo Transfer
3D Saline Infusion Sonography (3D SIS) is a visualisation of the womb cavity by ultrasound using a contrast medium (normal saline), and Dummy Embryo transfer is a "dummy" or trial run for the process of embryo transfer. It is necessary to do this to establish whether the transfer is likely to be easy or difficult and allows us to take measurements and/or note any deviations of the uterus.
3D HyCosy
3D HyCoSy is a visualisation of the uterine cavity and the fallopian tubes. This is performed by ultrasound, using a contrast medium (normal saline). This test is usually done in conjunction with the Dummy Embryo Transfer.
A catheter is introduced to the uterus via the vagina and an ultrasound probe is then placed in the vagina. When the uterus is visualised the contrast medium is then injected via the catheter and the results can be seen on the ultrasound screen.
This procedure is undertaken during the preparation phase of treatment and is performed to investigate any possible polyps, fibroids or growths that may impinge on the uterine cavity, thereby decreasing the chances of a successful pregnancy.
Should any anomalies be detected at this phase it can then be treated prior to commencing stimulation for IVF.

In some women the cervix (neck of the womb) is very tight and the catheter can be difficult to pass causing a delay in the procedure which could be harmful to the embryos.
Dilapan is a small firm rod that is inserted into the womb opening (cervix) to widen it before embryo transfer.
The Dilapan is designed to stretch the cervix gently prior to the time of the transfer so that the procedure goes smoothly. Dilapan is inserted prior to the commencing of stimulation for IVF and the effects usually last around two months.
Due to the unpredictable nature of IVF and fertility treatment we offer an on-call clinic at the weekends for essential services. We ensure that patients have access to essential services seven days a week at the Weekend On-Call Clinic
