Our collaboration with the Genetics Team at University College London has led to us being World-Class leaders in the pioneering of new techniques for Pre-Implantation Genetic Diagnosis.

The Unit was awarded a Millennium Products Award for its creative and innovative G-Test.


Mr. Paul Serhal - Medical Director, Hon. Consultant / Senior Lecturer

Mr. Paul Serhal

The Assisted Conception Unit at University College London Hospital was founded in 1990 by its Medical Director Mr. Paul Serhal MBBS, MRCOG. He has vast experience of male and female infertility and his efforts have ensured that the Assisted Conception Unit (now the CRGH) is amongst World Class leaders in the pioneering of new techniques for Pre-Implantation Genetic Diagnosis. He has published numerous articles in leading international fertility journals and has presented papers and given lectures at World Conferences. He has appeared on many radio and television documentary programmes debating different issues relating to women's health.


Mr. Massimo Ranieri - Deputy Medical Director, Hon. Snr. Lecturer

Mr. Massimo Ranieri

Mr. Massimo Ranieri, the Deputy Medical Director of the CRGH, is an experienced gynaecologist with extensive experience in the field of infertility. He joined the Assisted Conception Unit at University College London Hospital in 1992 and has, over the years, devoted his career to the treatment of infertile couples. His research has covered the assessment of the ovarian reserve and he is the author of many articles in international journals. He has been appointed Honorary Senior Lecturer by University College London.
 

Melanie Davies

Miss Melanie Davies

Miss Melanie Davies is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist, and specialist in reproductive medicine, working at University College London Hospitals and at the CRGH. Her special interest is infertility and assisted conception and she has worked in this field for 15 years.She has written widely in connection with this field of practice.
 

Rehan Salim

Mr. Rehan Salim

Mr. Rehan Salim is a consultant gynaecologist and subspecialist in reproductive medicine. He works both at University College Hospital London and at the CRGH. He is experienced in the management of fertility problems and has a special interest in reproductive surgery. His other areas of interest include early preganancy and gynaecology ultrasound, recurrent miscarriage and menstrual disorders. He has an active interest in research and is primarily involved in the investigation of uterine factors in subfertility and miscarriage. He has published extensively in these subjects and has been an invited speaker at both international and national conferences.


David Ralph

Mr. David Ralph

Mr. David Ralph is a Consultant Urandrologist, working both at The Institute of Urology, London, and at the CRGH. He has a wide interest in all aspects of sexual medicine and leads an active research programme with PhD and MD fellows. He has written many chapters on Peyronie's disease and the surgical and medical management of erectile dysfunction. He is the biggest implanter of penile prostheses in the UK with two clinical fellowship programmes to teach on this.

He is an accomplished microsurgeon who established and teaches on the Royal College of Surgeons Microsurgery for Andrologists course. In clinical practice his microsurgery skills are of particular benefit to men requiring surgery for fertility problems or vasectomy reversal.
 

Ertan Saridogan

Mr. Ertan Saridogan

Mr. Ertan Saridogan is a Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and Minimal Access Surgery at the University College London Hospitals, CRGH and the Portland Hospital. His current clinical interests include laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery, particularly for patients with subfertility, endometriosis and outpatient hysteroscopy. His research interests include healthy and diseased fallopian tube function, and cellular and biochemical mechanisms in endometriosis associated infertility. He is a founding Board Member of the International Society of Fallopian Tubes and is a member of the Working Party on Guidelines of Management of Endometriosis, European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), Endometriosis and Endometrium Special Interest Group.
 

Wael Saab - Fertility Specialist

Wael Saab is a full-time fertility specialist at CRGH. He is a qualified obstetrician and gynaecologist with experience in the field of infertility and the management of subfertile couples.He also holds a Bachelor's degree in biology, which made him actively involved inresearch projects carried out at CRGH. He joined what was then the ACU in 2007.

 

Benjamin Abramov - Fertility Specialist

Benjamin Abramov

Benjamin Abramov is a full-time fertility specialist.He trained as a doctor in Jerusalem, specialising in obstetrics and gynaecology.He had fertility and IVF training in Israel before coming to England in 2000.He has worked at a number of hospitals in this country before joining the ACU in 2008.

Irfana Koita-Kazi attended the GrantMedicalCollege in Mumbai, India and qualified as a doctor in 1998. In 2003 she completed post-graduate training (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) from the BYLNairHospital, Mumbai. Irfana then migrated to the UK and obtained specialist training in Reproductive Medicine at the Assisted Conception Unit in King’s CollegeHospital, London and has over 5 years’ experience in this field. She joined CRGH in June 2009.
