Embryo transfer can occur between two and six days after egg collection. The embryologists monitor the embryos to determine which are the most likely to implant. Embryo transfer is performed through the neck of the womb. The embryos are loaded into a fine catheter and this is gently passed through the cervix and the embryos are deposited in the womb. The procedure is quick and painless and does not require an anesthetic. You will not need to be sedated and may leave the unit after a rest period of twenty minutes
