Alpesh Doshi, Director of Laboratory

Having completed his postgraduate studies in Human Reproductive Biology at Imperial College in 1997, Alpesh obtained his training in clinical embryology at the Churchill Clinic in London. Alpesh joined The Centre of Reproductive and Genetic Health in 1999. He is currently the Head of Embryology and also an honorary consultant at the UCLH NHS trust. Alpesh is an HFEA licenced ICSI and Embryo Biopsy practitioner. In 2004 he became recognised by the Health professions Council as a state registered clinical embryologist and in 2008 he was in the first group of to qualify with ESHRE as a European Senior Clinical Embryologist. In 2009 Alpesh was accepted for Diplomate Membership of the Royal College of Pathologists. In addition he is an executive committee member of Alpha – Scientists in Reproductive Medicine. He has authored several papers in peer review journals and has contributed book chapters in 4 International Embryology publications edited by renowned scientists in the field. He has been an invited speaker in several International and National workshops and Conferences.
 
Suzanne Cawood, Deputy Head of Embryology
 
Suzanne Cawood, BSc(Hons), M.Med.Sci, joined the embryology team at CRGH in 2005 and quickly progressed to Senior Embryologist. She is responsible for the implementation of the oocyte donation programme, which has produced excellent clinical pregnancy rates. Suzanne is a state registered clinical scientist with the Health Professions Council and is a licensed ICSI and embryo biopsy practitioner. Suzanne has a keen interest in vitrification and has given talks in both Innsbruck and Istanbul to introduce the technique to other Units. Suzanne has also presented her own research at ALPHA, Budapest, 2010 and is to again at ACE, Dublin 2011. Further research interests include IMSI and oocyte birefringence and she is constantly committed to maintain CRGH’s exceptional success rates. She has co-written a book chapter with Dr Rehan Salim and is a member of the BFS, ACE and Alpha.

 
Carleen Heath, Embryologist
 
Carleen Heath, BSc, MSc, has been a member of the laboratory staff since February 2004. She completed her MSc in Reproductive and Developmental Biology in September 2007 and joined the Embryology team full-time the following month. Carleen is a trained tubing practitioner for preimplantation genetic diagnosis cases and obtained her ICSI licence in August 2010.

Victoria Wigley, Embryologist
 
Victoria Wigley BSc(Hons) MSc, joined the Embryology department in May 2011. Victoria completed her MSc degree in 'Prenatal Genetics and Fetal Medicine' with Distinction in 2007. Her embryology training and previous experience was at another London >IVF clinic, where she completed her Association of Clinical Embryologists (ACE) certificate. She joined the CRGH in 2011.
 
Urvashi Sarna, Embryologist
 
Urvashi Sarna, BSc (Hons), M.Med.Sci, completed her undergraduate degree in the Biology of Fertility and Embryo Development at University College London and went on to study for the Masters of Medical Science in Assisted Reproduction Technology at the University of Nottingham. Since completing the M.Med.Sci, she joined the embryology team at CRGH, after previously having worked at the Homerton Hospital fertility centre. She is a member of BFS and ACE and is currently completing the Association of Clinical Embryology certificate. She has recently been trained to carry out internal audits as part of the Quality Control management system at the unit.

Susannah Sargeant  Embryologist
 
Susannah Sargeant, BSc (Hons) completed her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Leeds.  She joined the team in 2010 as an Andrologist and has worked at the Reproductive Medicine Laboratory at UCLH.  She is currently a trainee Embryologist and is working towards her Association of Clinical Embryologists (ACE) certificate.

Victoria Wigley, Embryologist
 
Her embryology training and previous experience was at another London IVF clinic, where she completed her Association of Clinical Embryologists (ACE) certificate. She joined the CRGH in 2011.

Emily Drew, Trainee Embryologist 

Emily Drew, Msci (Hons) completed her Masters degree in Human Genetics at the University of Nottingham. She joined the embryology team in October 2011 as a trainee embryologist and is currently working towards her Association of Clinical Embryologists (ACE) certificate.
