Mr Paul Serhal - Medical Director, Hon. Consultant/Senior Lecturer

 



Our Medical Director, Mr. Paul Serhal, MBBS, MRCOG, founded the CRGH in 1990. His vast experience of male and female infertility has ensured that the CRGH is one of the leading fertility clinics in the UK. He has published numerous articles in leading international fertility journals and has given lectures at international conferences. His efforts have ensured that the CRGH is amongst world-class leaders in the pioneering of new techniques, such as preimplantation genetic diagnosis and the advancement of fertility treatments. He has appeared on many radio and television documentary programmers’ debating different issues relating to women's health.
 

Melanie Davies, Consultant



Miss Melanie Davies, MBBS, MRCOG, is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist, and specialist in reproductive medicine, working at the Reproductive Medicine Unit University College London Hospital and at the CRGH. Her special interest is infertility and assisted conception and she has worked in this field for over 20 years. She has written widely in connection with this field of practice.
 


David Ralph, Consultant Uroandrologist



Mr. David Ralph, BSc, MS FRCS(Urol), is a Consultant Urologist, working both at The Institute of Urology, London (www.andrology.co.uk and www.stpetersmalefertility.co.uk), and at the CRGH. He has a wide interest in all aspects of sexual medicine and leads an active research programme with PhD and MD fellows. He has written many chapters on Peyronie's disease and the surgical and medical management of erectile dysfunction. He is the biggest implanter of penile prostheses in the UK. He is an accomplished microsurgeon who established and teaches on the Royal College of Surgeons Microsurgery for Andrologists course. In clinical practice his microsurgery skills are of particular benefit to men requiring surgery for fertility problems or vasectomy reversal.
 

Ertan Saridogan, Consultant



Mr. Ertan Saridogan, MBBS, MRCOG, is a Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and Minimal Access Surgery at University College London Hospitals (link to UCLH web page), CRGH and the Portland Hospital (link to http://www.theportlandhospital.com). His current clinical interests include laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery, particularly for patients with subfertility, endometriosis and outpatient hysteroscopy. His research interests include healthy and diseased fallopian tube function, and cellular and biochemical mechanisms in endometriosis associated infertility. He is the Honorary Treasurer of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy and the Honorary Secretary of the International Society of Fallopian Tubes. He is also a member of the Working Party for the Guidelines on Management of Endometriosis, European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), Endometriosis and Endometrium Special Interest Group.

Mr. Ozkan Ozturk, Consultant - Deputy Medical Director

Ozkan Ozturk - The CRGH Team












 
 
Mr Ozkan Ozturk, MBA, MD, MRCOG, is a fertility consultant and deputy medical director. He worked as a consultant gynaecologist and senior lecturer between 2004 and 2008 at University College London Hospitals. Mr Ozturk received his MD degree from University of London on the “Clinical aspects of embryo implantation” and Master’s degree on business administration from University of Aberdeen on the “Quality assessment in assisted conception”. He has published widely on his research particularly on factors affecting the outcome of IVF treatment, patient perceptions for treatment quality, uterine and ovarian perfusion and multiple pregnancy.
 

Wael Saab - Fertility Specialist, Head of Clinical Research and Development

 

Dr Saab, BSc, MD, obtained a Bachelors degree in Biology with distinction in 1999 and then went on to do his general medical degree. He did his training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with a specialist interest in infertility and the treatment of the infertile couple. Dr Wael Saab was ranked in the top 1% in international exams in Medicine. He is highly skilled in gynaecological ultrasound and 3D scanning in addition to early first trimester ultrasound. His broad knowledge in these different fields of medicine has made him highly interested in research. He joined the CRGH in 2007 and is Head of Clinical Research and Development.

 

Benjamin Abramov - Fertility Specialist, Deputy Clinical Director


Dr Benjamin Abramov, BMedSc, MD, has many years experience in the field of reproductive medicine. He joined the CRGH in 2008. In 2010 he was nominated as the Deputy Clinical Director of the CRGH. Through his years of practice in Gynaecology, Fertility Medicine and IVF, both in the UK and abroad, Dr Abramov has gained an in depth knowledge and experience in the management of complex fertility cases. He has a special interest in psycho-sexual counseling, reproductive endocrinology, and male sub-fertility.
 
Charles Rodeck, Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee
 
Professor Rodeck, BSc, MBBS, DSc, FRCOG, FRCPath, FMedSci., is one of the most respected specialists in fetal medicine in the world. For many years he was head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at UCL and ran the Fetal Medicine Unit at UCLH. He recently retired and is now Emeritus Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He has written many books and hundreds of scientific papers. In 2010 he was awarded the Eardley Holland Medal by the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. This medal is awarded every five years to a Member or Fellow of the RCOG, recognizing outstanding achievement in practice and/or research in obstetrics and gynaecology.
 
Joyce Harper – Scientific Head of Research and Development, Deputy Director of PGD
 
Dr Harper, BSc, PhD, FRCPath is Reader at UCL in Human Genetics and Embryology and Deputy Director of UCL Centre for PGD (link to ucl.ac.uk/PGD). She is an internationally renowned scientist who has been working in the infertility field for over 20 years. After she obtained her PhD from Kings College, London, she was Laboratory Director of an IVF Unit for 5 years, before moving into the field of preimplantation genetic diagnosis in 1992. She is invited to speak at numerous international conferences, has written over 100 research papers and two textbooks. Her research interests span all aspects of infertility treatment, especially related to embryo selection and genetics. She is a member of the Association of Clinical Embryologists.
 
Professor Joy Delhanty, Director of PGD
 
Joy Delhanty is an expert on cytogenetic aspects of preimplantation development in humans and on the diagnosis of chromosomal disorders in the preimplantation embryo. She was the co-founder of UCL Centre for PGD and is responsible for the diagnostic aspects of the PGD service and for the financial management. She has published many papers and been responsible for many PGD firsts.

Miss Lisa Webber, Consultant Gynaecologist, Specialist in Reproductive Medicine
 
Miss Lisa Webber BA BMBCh PhD MRCOG is a consultant gynaecologist and specialist in reproductive medicine. Formally a consultant at St Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust where she specialized in disorders of ovulation including the management of all aspects of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), she moved to the CRGH in July 2011.  She trained at 2 of the top 10 academic institutions in the world, gaining both her undergraduate and basic medical degrees from Oxford University and her PhD from Imperial College London.  Her special interests are disorders of ovarian function, in particular polycystic ovarysyndrome (the subject of her PhD) both the fertility and non-fertility related aspects and premature ovarian insufficiency (premature menopause).  Lisa is Treasurer of ESCO (Experts in Severe and Complex Obesity - a national multi-disciplinary group).

She has published in The Lancet and other learned journals on PCOS and often lectures on the subject nationally and internationally.

Lynne Chapman – MBBS, BSc
 
Lynne has been working in the field of obstetrics and gynecology for more than 10 years. She joined the CRGH team in 2011. Lynne has extensive clinical and research experience in the area of fibroids, endometriosis and minimal access surgery.
